There were eight councillors present at the Parish Council meeting held on Monday 12 July 2004. Also present were three members of the public and Dick Tonge (District Councillor)
Regarding the casual vacancy on the Council, NWDC had confirmed that no requests for an election were received. The Parish Council had received only one application for the post - from mrs Heather McKibbin and she was unanimously co-opted as a Parish Councillor.
The following planning applications were considered and no objections raised:
amended plans for internal and external alterations and single storey extension to agricultural building to convert to 3 workshop units at Wick Farm; external alterations to provide pair of French doors to west elevation at New Farm; removal of two plum trees at Lacock Abbey; felling of one poplar tree at the Old Rectory. With regard to an application for the erection of a three bay garage at De Bijenkopf the Council felt that the size of the proposed building was excessive in relation ot the dwelling house. The Planning Inspectorate has advised that an inquiry will be held re land at Notton Park on 15 March 2005 at the Council Offices Monkton Park, Chippenham.
Recent rubbish collection problems in East Street were highlighted and it was agreed that NWDC be asked to send a smaller vehicle to collect at the same time as Nethercote Hill.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Monday 13 Sep at 7.30pm in the Manor Room. Members of Press and Public are cordially invited to attend.
