Great park with a good mix of play equipment. A few trees for shade for sitting under. There's a fence all the way around the play area, so no worries about absent minded little ones wandering off. The play equipment for little children and big children is all in one area - great if you're visiting with a number of children of different ages. Splash pad is also fenced. Not as big as some splash pads, but still enough to have fun. Nice ice creams. Reasonable toilets. Car park not really big enough for sunny day numbers, but on-street parking available.
This park is so well maintained and caters for everyone. Dog walkers can let dogs off the lead or exercise them in a fenced off area at the top of the park. Families can play in the grass central area and they have bands playing on a Sunday throughout summer. The playground area is clean and kept in fantastic order and there is a splash park for little ones which is great in the summer. There are clean toilet facilities and an outdoor cafe serving a variety of items and tea and coffee in proper mugs. There are courts and a bowling green too. There is a small car park for the park which can get busy, but there are no yellow lines down Malmesbury Road by the two other gates. Wishes for the future....1) would be great for it to be open later in winter.....it is hard to find somewhere you feel safe to walk dogs in the dark and I am sure so any people would use it/pay a small fee to access via 1 gate in the evenings in winter so they could let their dogs off the lead. 2) Shelters by the splash pad to protect little ones from the sun as there is no shade there at all 3) Sheltered seating for the cafe...people visit the park in all weathers and would happily sit outside in the rain with a cup of tea if there was some shelter. :-)
